Anneliese Rubie-Renshaw (born April 22, 1992 in Canberra as Anneliese Rubie ) is an Australian sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

Anneliese Rubie-Renshaw gained her first international experience at the 2010 Junior World Championships in Moncton , where she was eliminated in the semifinals with 54.39 s and also not for the Australian 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 39.64 min qualified the final. In 2011 she made it to the semifinals at the Summer Universiade in Shenzhen , but did not compete there. With the relay she took part in the World Championships in Daegu and was eliminated there with 3: 32.27 min in advance. At the 2014 IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas , she won the B final with a time of 3: 31.01 min. At the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow she reached the semifinals over 400 m, in which she was eliminated in 52.55 s and finished fourth in the Australian 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 30.27 minutes. At the Athletics Continental Cup in Marrakech she was seventh over 400 meters and fourth in the Asia-Pacific 4 x 400 meter relay.

At the IAAF World Relays 2015 she was seventh in 3: 30.03 min. She qualified again for the World Championships in Beijing , where she reached the semi-finals in the 400-meter competition and was eliminated there with 52.04 s. With the 4 x 400 meter relay , she retired in 3: 28.61 minutes in the first round. In 2016 she took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was eliminated in the individual competition with 51.96 s in the semi- finals. In addition, she was eighth in the Australian relay in 3: 27.45 minutes . At the IAAF World Relays 2017 she was fifth in 3: 28.80 s and retired from the relay at the World Championships in London with 3: 28.02 s in the first round . In 2018 she again took part in the Commonwealth Games in her native Gold Coast , where she finished seventh over 400 meters in 52.03 s and finished fifth with the relay in 3: 27.43 min. In September she finished eighth over 400 meters in the Athletics Continental Cup in Ostrava in 52.50 seconds and third in the 4 x 400 meter relay competition.

In 2015 and 2018 Rubie became Australian champion in the 400-meter run. She graduated from Sydney University with an art degree .
