Annette Vogel (* 1963 in Heilbronn ) is a German art historian and curator .

Career

Annette Vogel studied art history , German literature and economics in Munich , Berlin and Freiburg i. Br. She wrote her master's thesis on Joseph Beuys . She was at the Museum of New Art in Freiburg i. Br. Before she moved to the Serge Sabarsky Gallery in New York. As a result she worked in New York and Germany in the art trade, collection management and international exhibition management. a. In 1993 she helped set up the Egon Schiele Center in Krumau (Czech Republic).

From 1996 to 2013 she headed the Serge Sabarsky Inc. representative in Berlin and Munich. Here she was responsible for the collection in New York as well as for exhibitions in Europe. Parts of the Expressionism collection she oversees are now in the Neue Galerie in New York.

Vogel has been a freelance curator for art collections and foundations since 1997 and realizes exhibitions for museums, institutions and exhibition houses in Germany and abroad. She is the editor and author of numerous publications on the art of German and Austrian expressionism , classical modernism and contemporary art. Between 2001 and 2004 she was a partner in a gallery in Berlin-Mitte with positions on contemporary conceptual art.

They also curated the since 2009 ADAC -Kunstsammlung that in the center is the company in Munich and includes works by international contemporary artists who deal with the subject of "Mobility". She imparts curatorial knowledge as a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich .

Vogel is a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), the Corporate Collections working group , the cultural group of German business and the Association of German Art Historians . In addition, she is involved in Munich with the Friends of the Pinakotheken , the Friends of the House of Art , the State Graphic Collection , the Munich Art Association and the Munich Academy Association and is a member of various juries for contemporary art.

Vogel is the author and editor of numerous publications on the art of German and Austrian Expressionism , classical modernism and contemporary art.

She lives and works in Munich and Berlin.
