The church
The church

Anraff is a district of the municipality Edertal in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district , Hesse .

Location and history

The village, first mentioned in 802 as "Antraffa", is one of the oldest places in the Edertal . It is located on the "Ederauen" nature reserve . The country road 3086 runs through the village. The Anraffer ponds are in the immediate vicinity.

Incorporation

On December 31, 1971, Anraff became part of the newly founded community of Edertal.

church

The church was built in 1827 instead of a previous church. It is a half-timbered church lined with quarry stones . The tower is built into the roof beams of the nave and consists of a roof turret. After the last renovation of the church, two artistic objects were designed by Atelier Lönne and Neumann in the recently reopened windows of the altar wall.

The Anraff stop was on the Wabern – Brilon Wald railway line , which was shut down in this section in 2001.
