action

Anthony Zimmer, wanted in connection with money laundering, is one of the most wanted criminals. He changes his appearance with the help of plastic surgery so that no one knows what he looks like. However, the investigating tax investigator Akerman hopes Zimmer will try to meet his girlfriend Chiara.

Chiara travels to Nice on a TGV . Before the trip she received a message from Zimmer asking her to sit down with a man of his stature. She chooses François Taillandier, who works as a translator, with whom she later spends some time. The man accompanies her to a hotel where Chiara has reserved a suite . Chiara goes into hiding while Taillandier is mistaken for rooms and pursued by the tax authorities and the criminals led by Nassaiev. After a murder attempt, he escapes and turns to the police, but the police officer who is investigating there is murdered.

Taillandier flees after another attack and is hidden in a shelter by Chiara. She reveals to him that she used it because she loved Zimmer. It turns out that Chiara is a secret agent of the tax investigations and works for Akerman, who calls her "unscrupulous".

Chiara is asked by Zimmer to meet at Zimmer's house through a newspaper advertisement. There she runs into Nassaiev, who holds her prisoner and lets one of his helpers beat her. The police secretly surround the building and wait for rooms while Taillandier rushes to help Chiara. When Nassaiev tries to kill him, he is shot by a police sniper ; Nassaiev's helpers are also killed in the subsequent shooting. Akerman says resignedly to a colleague that it is no longer possible to find Zimmer, knowing that Taillandier is actually Anthony Zimmer.

Taillandier fetches the notes about his transactions from a hidden safe and deposits them in such a way that the police can find them. He reveals to Chiara that he is room and drives away with her.
