Apollinaris Jakob von Slugocki (born August 10, 1782 in Zeyne in Poland , † November 16, 1860 in Cologne ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

His parents were the landowner Jakob von Slugocki and his wife Maria Katharina, née von Baluszewska.

Career

Slugocki came to the Polish Miroslaw Monastery in 1793. He then went to Prussian service on May 1, 1800 , where he served as a commander in the "von Günther" hussar regiment . From 1800 to 1803 he attended the regiment school, which the regiment chief General von Günther had set up. There he also learned the German language . In 1802 he was a non-commissioned officer , on January 7, 1804 a cornet and on June 4, 1806 second lieutenant . In the Fourth Coalition War he fought in the battles near Thorn, Soldau, Braunsberg, Mohrungen, Königsberg and Tilsit.

After the Peace of Tilsit he came on November 8, 1807 in the regiment of the Uhlans and from there on November 1, 1808 in the Silesian Uhlan Regiment . During the wars of liberation he fought in the battle near Borna and earned the Iron Cross 2nd class near Haynau . He also fought at Pfaffendorf and Ebersdorf and in the battles at Großgörschen , Bautzen , Dresden , Leipzig , Namur and Ligny . For Leipzig he received the Iron Cross First Class and for the campaign on March 17, 1815 also the Order of St. Vladimir IV Class with a ribbon; he was also promoted to lieutenant prime minister on April 8, 1814 .

On March 29, 1815 he came to the 5th Uhlan Regiment and on August 24, 1815 he was already captain and squadron leader in the 1st Posen Landwehr Cavalry Regiment. On November 24, 1816 he was transferred to the II. Battalion and on September 16, 1822 to major and commander of the III. Battalion in the 5th Landwehr Regiment in Prussian Stargard . From there he came on December 28, 1830 as a leader in the 10th Landwehr Cavalry Regiment. On March 30, 1835, he was initially commissioned to lead the 4th Dragoons Regiment and on March 30, 1836, he was appointed commander. On March 30, 1837, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel with a patent on April 19, 1837. In 1839, on January 18, he received the Order of the Red Eagle III. Class with ribbon and on March 30, 1839 promotion to colonel . On March 29, 1842 he got his departure with the character of major general and an annual pension of 1750 thalers. On August 3, 1858, he was senior of the Iron Cross, 2nd class, which earned him an honorary salary of 50 thalers. He died on November 16, 1860 in Cologne and was buried in the Melaten cemetery .

family

Slugocki married on May 23, 1820 in Krotoschin Angelika von Borck , the daughter of the district administrator of Krotoschin Heinrich von Borck (1767-1827). Major General Alexander von Borck (1802-1880) was his brother-in-law. The couple had three children including:
