Apure is one of the 23 states in Venezuela .

The capital is San Fernando de Apure . With 593.7005 inhabitants (as of 2017), Apure is Venezuela's sixth smallest state by inhabitants.

geography

The Apure llanos were formed during the Tertiary and Pleistocene periods. The sediments are hardly formed and there are sand-clay banks that arose relatively recently from floods.

Waters

Apure has numerous rivers. All are part of the Orinoco Basin. The Apure River is the longest river in the state, about 1,000 km in length.

population

The inhabitants of Apure are mostly Llaneros , who are of Spanish and Indian origin. Some Indian ethnic groups still live, such as the Pume or Yaruro.
