Arthur Legrand (born June 4, 1991 ) is a Belgian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been playing for Phantoms Antwerp in the Belgian-Dutch BeNe League again since 2016 .

Career

Clubs

Arthur Legrand began his career at IHC Leuven . At the age of 16 he moved to France, where he first played hockey in the youth division at Reims Champagne , before guarding the goal for two years at Hockey sur glace Dunkerque in Division 2 , the country's third-highest division. In 2010 he returned to Belgium and has since played for Phantoms Antwerp in the honor division . In 2013, 2014 and 2015 he was voted the best goalkeeper in the honor division. In 2015 he was also able to win the Belgian championship title with the Phantoms . He then went to the United States for a year, where he played for the Berlin River Drivers in the Federal Hockey League . He has been back in Antwerp since 2016 and plays for the Phantoms in the Belgian-Dutch BeNe League .

International

In the junior division, Legrand represented his home country at the U18 World Championships in 2007 , 2008 and 2009 and the U20 World Championships in 2009 , 2010 and 2011 in Division II.

In the adult sector, Legrand was overshadowed by long-time national goalkeeper Björn Steijlen for a long time and was part of the Belgian national ice hockey team for the first time at the 2015 World Cup in Division II . He achieved the best catch quota straight away and was voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament. He also played in Division II at the 2017 and 2018 World Championships .
