Artur Jędrzejczyk (born November 4, 1987 in Dębica , Tarnów Voivodeship ) is a Polish football player . He has been under contract with the Polish first division club Legia Warsaw since 2017 .
Career
Artur Jędrzejczyk started playing football in his hometown near Igloopol Dębica . For the second half of the 2004/2005 season he was accepted into the first team and made his debut in the 4th division. After one and a half years in the 4th division, the Polish top club Legia Warsaw noticed him and signed Artur Jędrzejczyk in 2006. He made his debut for Legia Warsaw in the Polish Supercup final against Wisła Płock , which lost 2-1 and Jędrzejczyk made a few mistakes . On August 19, 2006 he made his debut in the Polish Ekstraklasa . However, it should remain his only use in the 2006/07 season. For the 2007/08 season he was loaned to the second division GKS 1962 Jastrzębie for a year . Here he was able to quickly fight for a regular place and played 23 league games. After the season he was awarded again for a year to a second division club. This time to Dolcan Ząbki , where he scored two goals in 28 league games. In the first half of the 2009/10 season Artur Jędrzejczyk finally got his chance at Legia Warsaw. However, he could not use this and was used in only four league games, but scored a goal in the 4-0 win against Zagłębie Lubin . For the second half of the same season he was awarded again. But this time with Korona Kielce to a first division club. For Korona Kielce he played eleven times in the Ekstraklasa and scored one goal. But in the 2010/11 season he was then, slowly but surely, able to assert himself at Legia Warsaw and eventually became a regular player and even advanced to the national team. After a total of 82 games and four goals in the Ekstraklasa, 51 games and two goals in the 2nd division and 16 UEFA Europa League games, he moved to the Russian first division club FK Krasnodar in 2013 . The transfer fee Legia Warsaw got for him was 2.2 million euros. At the end of 2014 he tore a cruciate ligament and was out for about six months. At the beginning of 2016 he was loaned to his former club Legia Warsaw in his Polish homeland for half a year . After a successful loan, Jędrzejczyk was signed by Legia Warsaw.
National team
Artur Jędrzejczyk only played for Poland from the U-20s and that very seldom. On October 12, 2010, he made his debut in Montreal in a friendly (2-2) against Ecuador with the senior team . After that, it took over two years before he was used again in friendly matches. In the second half of the unsuccessful World Cup qualification, he played his first five competitive games on the right defensive side. In qualifying for the European Football Championship in 2016 , he was then used as a left defender until his cruciate ligament rupture put him out of action. It was only used again in the run-up to the European Championship and it was accepted into Poland's squad. In the tournament he was a regular player and played all five games over the full playing time. The team was eliminated on penalties in the quarterfinals.
