Aschau is a place in the Ausseerland of the Salzkammergut in Styria and belongs to the Grundlsee municipality in the Liezen district .

geography

The place Aschau is a good 2 kilometers northeast of Bad Aussee and just as far west of Grundlsee . It is located directly on the right bank of the Grundlseer Traun , at the foot of the Tressenstein  ( 1201  m above sea level ), at around 700  m above sea level. A. Height. The place has just under 10 addresses. Of the houses, listed as scattered houses for statistical reasons , those outward of the valley belong to the village of Untertressen , those inward of the valley belong to Mosern (Grundlsee municipality) .

history

In 1947 a chair lift was built here in the Tressensattel . Due to disputes between the operators and due to unprofitability, the operation was difficult, and the plant was shut down again in 1957 and dismantled.

Down the Traun from Aschau is the Eiserne Steg , up the Traun from the Fischersteg , over which a popular promenade leads from Aussee to Grundlsee.
