From strange gardens

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

From Foreign Gardens is a collection of significant and interesting poems by foreign peoples . This was published by Otto Hauser between 1911 and 1921 in the publishing house Duncker & Humblot .

The publisher Alexander Duncker already had the idea for such a series, but could not carry it out due to a lack of "suitable" employees. Only his successors, together with Otto Hauser u. a. create and initiate this series. Although the larger works were only excerpts, the literary criticism was enthusiastic and the audience was quickly convinced. It is noteworthy that regardless of the political events ( First World War ), literatures of warring states appeared side by side.
