The A5 near Chelsea

The autoroute begins at the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge on Ottawa, the border river between Ontario and Québec. To the south, the Autoroute is an inner-city street in Ottawa . The A5 runs north of Gatineau city center, about 2 km after the start of the Autoroute 50 branches off , which leads to Montréal . The rest of the route goes to the northwest, the autoroute runs parallel to the Gatineau River and ends west of Wakefield, the road continues on Route 105 .
