The car Route 7 , just A7 , also called "Route du Nord" or Luxembourgish "Nordstrooss", runs from the motorway junction Grünewald ( Jonction Grunewald ) north.

The total length of the A7 in its final state today is 31.469 km.

A not insignificant part of the A7 runs through the three longest tunnels in the Grand Duchy:

  • Gousselerbierg tunnel (length: 2,695 m)
  • Mersch tunnel (length: 530 m)
  • Grouft Tunnel (length: 2,966 m)
  • Stafelter tunnel (length: 1,850 m)

The confluence of the A7 with the A1 and the Waldhaff junction has been completed since 2002 . The length of this section is approx. 1.3 km.

The entire route has been fully passable since September 23, 2015 after 36 years of construction.

B7

At Schieren, the A7 changes to the B7 (Voie express 7), which continues the Route du Nord to Wemperhardt. The B7 connects the A7 with the N7 and is a bypass of Ettelbrück and Diekirch .
