Bel-Aziz Acharki (born March 27, 1972 in Nador , Morocco ) was national trainer of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Team from 2017 to the end of 2018 and was German national Taekwondo trainer from 2010 to 2016 . He was born in Nador and is of Moroccan origin.

He was world champion (up to 70 kg) in 1995, military world champion in 2001 and 2002, vice military world champion in 1996 and 1999 and two-time European champion in 1996 and 2000. He has also participated very successfully in several national and international competitions and was fifth at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

Life

Acharki started practicing Taekwondo at the 1st Godesberger Judo Club at the age of 11 under the direction of Thomas Fabula . For several years he was a member of the DTU national team and long-time captain of the German TKD national team. After completing his professional training, Acharki achieved his greatest successes as a German sports soldier for the Sonthofen sports company. From 1996 to 2002 he fought for the Sauerland Taekwondo Association KDK Attendorn. After completing his active competitive time, he was NWTU national trainer. From 2002 to 2005 Acharki was a regional trainer with special assignments in North Rhine-Westphalia. From 1996 to 2004 he was active spokesman for the German Taekwondo Union in the DSB (today DOSB). After the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 he founded the OTC-Bonn eV, "Olympic Taekwondo Club Bonn", which today is a state performance base for Taekwondo and as a performance center belongs to the Olympic base in Rhineland. Acharki was a functional trainer at the national level in the DTU competitive sports team for several years and was responsible for competitive Olympic sports from January 1, 2013 until the end of 2016 in the role of full-time national coach for men.
