Bálint Marcel Bajner (born November 18, 1990 in Szombathely ) is a Hungarian football player who is primarily used as a center forward.

Career

Bajner started playing football in his hometown in the youth of Haladás Szombathely before joining the youth team of FC Sopron in the summer of 2005 . There he drew attention to himself through strong appearances in the youth teams and was considered a great talent.

From the summer of 2006 he was part of the squad of the first team that played in the Nemzeti Bajnokság . However, Bajner was initially not taken into account there. It wasn't until the beginning of April 2007 that he was in the squad for the first time. On May 26, 2007, the 30th and final matchday of the 2006/07 season , Bajner made his professional football debut at the age of sixteen years, 6 months and 8 days when he played in the away game against Debreceni Vasutas SC (1: 2) Róbert Feczesin came on in the 68th minute .

For the 2007/08 season he moved to the Romanian second division club and promoted CF Liberty Oradea .

After one season he was loaned for a year to the reserve team of the English first division club West Ham United , who also secured a purchase option. There he scored eight goals in sixteen games. Nevertheless, the club waived the purchase option and Bajner returned to Romania in July 2009.

At the end of August 2009 he was awarded to the capital city club Honvéd Budapest for a year in his home country . There he was used in both the first and second team. After the 2008/09 season he was then firmly committed by Honvéd Budapest. There he could not prevail in the next season and his expiring contract was not extended.

In the summer of 2011, Bajner moved abroad again. After initially unsuccessfully completing a trial training session with the German second division Hansa Rostock , he signed a contract with the Italian sixth division ASD Sulmona Calcio . There he scored eleven goals in eighteen games.

For the 2012/13 season Bajner returned to Hungary for the first division club Bodajk FC Siófok . There he dissolved his contract again in early September 2012 without having played a game.

At the end of September 2012, Bajner was signed by the second team of the German champions and cup winners Borussia Dortmund , which plays in the third division , where he had previously completed a trial session. He signed a contract until the end of the 2012/13 season . After scoring four goals in the first eight games for BVB II, his contract was prematurely extended by one year to the end of June 2014 in December 2012. In January 2013 he was allowed to participate in the preparation for the second half of the 2012/13 season at the first team's training camp in La Manga del Mar Menor , Spain . On February 24, 2013, he played his first Bundesliga game against Borussia Mönchengladbach when he came on for Moritz Leitner in the 71st minute . Bajner has already scored one goal in the friendly against the Spanish third division club Albacete, and one in the game "All against BVB".

After his contract expired, Bajner signed with the English club Ipswich Town , but only made 5 appearances there. After almost half a year, I moved again to Notts County in England. In 2015 he returned to Hungary and signed a contract with Paksi FC .

In August 2016, Bajner took part in a trial training session with German third division club Holstein Kiel. After a short stopover at FC Modena , Bajner returned to Borussia Dortmund's U-23 .

National team

Bajner has only played for the U-19s of the Hungarian Football Association . He was first nominated in summer 2008 and took part with the U-19s in the U-19 European Football Championship in the Czech Republic . He made his debut for the U-19s on July 17, 2008 in the second round match against the U-19s of Spain (1-0). With the team he reached the semi-finals, but where they failed with 0-1 to Italy . In total, he played eight games for the U-19s from 2008 to 2009, in which he scored three goals. He achieved all of these within sixteen minutes in the home game against San Marino (6-0) in October 2008.
