History and infrastructure: Traxenbichl stop

Traxenbichl (the second part of Bichel, Upper German 'hill') was originally a homestead, today's house number Traxenbichl 19, the farm at Bühel was called Gut im Ober Bichl (No. 26/28). Other old properties in the 18th / 19th Century - on the road into the valley - the Adamgut in der Au (Bahnweg 8) and the Thomagut am Anger (Hnr. 12/13), as well as the Gut in der Edt (Hnr. 29) on the Bühel and the Gumsenmühle (Hnr. 29) on the Krendlbach (Hnr . 31)

In 1901 the Almtalbahn from Wels to Grünau im Almtal was completed, and a stop was set up here, opening was May 23 of that year. Since then the local development began. In the 1980s, the line was renovated and is now an important regional transport route in the tourist region. The stop is served every 2 hours.

The place and the train stop are relatively well known in Austria as the namesake for the board game Do you know Traxenbichl? , a local guessing game from Peri Spiele , which was based in Scharnstein.
