Algertshausen is a church village and district of Aichach in the district of Aichach-Friedberg , which belongs to the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria (until 1972 Upper Bavaria).
The district also includes the Aichach train station and the Untermühle wasteland .

geography

Algertshausen is located in the Danube-Isar hill country and thus in the Lower Bavarian hill country, which belongs to the Alpine foothills , one of the main natural spatial units in Germany .

Algertshausen is located directly to the west of the old town of Aichach and is almost fused with it. The Untermühle is in the north of Algertshausen, the Aichach train station in the east. All three districts are separated from the Aichach old town by the south-west-north-east flowing Paar .

The Paartalbahn from Augsburg-Hochzoll to Ingolstadt runs through the Aichach train station to the east through Algertshausen .

history

Until July 1, 1972, Algertshausen and its districts belonged to the district of Aichach as an independent municipality and then came to the newly founded district of Aichach-Friedberg as part of the regional reform in Bavaria (until April 30, 1973 as the district of Augsburg-Ost ). On January 1, 1974, Algertshausen was incorporated into the city of Aichach.

The former parish had an area of ​​244.59 hectares .

Church of St. Peter and Paul

The Catholic branch church of St. Peter and Paul in Algertshausen belongs to the parish of the Assumption of Mary in Aichach. It is a listed late Romanesque, flat-roofed rectangular building with a turret from the first quarter of the 13th century, which was redesigned in the 17th century.
