The Nuremberg Northwest Station (also: Nuremberg Nordwestbahnhof ) was only the freight serving station in Nuremberg and lay on the northern ring between the overpasses on the Schnieglinger- and whet Straße. The through station was closed in 2008.
history
The Nürnberg Nordwest station was on the Nuremberg Ringbahn and was put into operation on May 1, 1905 when the Nordring was expanded from the Nordbahnhof to the Nordwestbahnhof. Until October 1, 1910, when the last section from the north-west station to the Muggenhof junction and from there to Fürth was built, it was the terminus of the northern branch of the Ringbahn. The station, which only serves goods traffic, has been closed like the former bypass. There is only the through track of the circular railway, all sidings have been dismantled since 2008.
