The Nürnberg-Laufamholz stop is an S-Bahn station in Nuremberg , on the Nuremberg – Schwandorf railway line and in the Laufamholz district . It is divided into station category 5 and has two 165 m long and 76 cm high side platforms . The traffic is operated by the S-Bahn line S1 ( Bamberg  - Nuremberg  - Hartmannshof ). There is a P + R parking lot and a B + R parking lot to the northwest of the stop .

Platforms

The opening of the stop for passenger traffic took place on August 8, 1878 by the Royal Bavarian State Railways , the start of freight traffic followed on February 15, 1908. By 1901 it had been upgraded to a station. At the end of the Second World War (1943), the second track after the train station in the direction of Schwandorf was dismantled. With the decision to introduce a S-Bahn system in Nuremberg, the first line of which was to run from Nuremberg to Lauf (left the Pegnitz) , the Laufamholz station was redesigned in the mid-1980s. Two side platforms were built to the north and south of the two through tracks, which are connected to the street area by stairs and ramps as well as an underpass. The station building was demolished and replaced by a supermarket. The reopening took place on September 26, 1987 together with the start of operation of the S1, at the same time the operating point was downgraded to a stopping point.
