Railway stations in Bavaria |
The Fischbach (b Nürnberg) station is a former station and today's S-Bahn stop in Nuremberg . It lies on the Nuremberg – Feucht railway line and is on the northern edge of the Altenfurt district on the flyover over Löwenberger Straße. It is divided into station category 6 and has two tracks, each with a 145 m long and 96 cm high side platform. The infrastructure also includes a P + R car park with 58 spaces and a bicycle shed with 30 spaces. The stop is served by the S-Bahn line S2 (Roth - Nürnberg - Altdorf) and served by bus lines 54, 56, 57, 59 and 96 in city traffic.
history
First train station from 1896
The halt was opened on May 30, 1896 by the Royal Bavarian State Railways . It is located on the Nuremberg – Regensburg railway line , which had been in operation in the section to Neumarkt since 1871.
Reconstruction in 1940
The first conversion was carried out in the course of the construction work for the Nazi party rally grounds and the resulting connection of the southern ring railway access to the Fischbach station. From 1940, the station facilities consisted of a house platform and an additional central platform. In addition to the reception building from 1896, another and much larger one was built.
S-Bahn platform 1992
For the second S-Bahn line to be built in 1988, the previous systems were shut down and a new side platform was built on the bridge over Löwenberger Strasse, which went into operation on November 22, 1992. In the course of the construction work for the new line to Ingolstadt , the old central platform, which is no longer used, was demolished because the threading in and out of the freight tracks to the marshalling yard had to be structurally adapted.
Second S-Bahn platform in 2010
For the S-Bahn to Neumarkt , which started operations on December 12, 2010, the single-track section that had previously started in front of the stop was to be expanded to double-track to increase capacity and a further side platform was to be built for the tracks then used in one-way traffic. The construction work for this began after the planning was completed in spring 2009, the provisional commissioning of the platform on the future track towards Feucht took place on May 31, 2010. The renewal and recommissioning of the existing platform until the start of operation of the S3 (Nuremberg - Neumarkt) in December 2010 on the Nuremberg direction track, the double-track expansion between Fischbach and Feucht took place on April 18, 2011, the retrofitting of the planned elevator on the new platform is delayed further. There is a dispute between the city of Nuremberg and Deutsche Bahn over the cost allocation for a second access desired by the city from the east side of Löwenberger Straße.
Reception building
The original station building was built to put the station into operation at the end of the 19th century and is a two-story brick building with a gable roof. Around 1940 a large two-part new building was erected next to it. The main building is a gable-independent sandstone building with a steep saddle roof, an eaves-standing sandstone building with a saddle roof and a pillar hall open to the track side is attached. Both pitched roofs have dormers. The two reception buildings have been preserved to this day and are a listed building . Today they are located away from the platforms and are no longer used for rail purposes.
