The Postbauer-Heng station is a station at kilometer 73.5 of the Nuremberg – Regensburg railway line . The station is located in the east of the Postbauer-Heng market in the Neumarkt district in the Upper Palatinate , at an altitude of 459 meters above sea level, near the federal highway 8 .

The station was opened together with the section between Nuremberg and Neumarkt on December 1, 1871, the former station building is a listed building (D-3-73-155-27).

history

Postbauer station around 1900

The station was still called Postbauer until 1978, but was then renamed to Postbauer-Heng due to the merger of the communities Postbauer and Heng . In 1998, extensive renovation work took place at the station: The station was rebuilt for the start of operations in December 2010 of the S-Bahn from Nuremberg to Neumarkt and equipped for disabled people. Among other things, the platforms were raised to a height of 76 centimeters to enable barrier-free access to the S-Bahn trains.

The listed station building was owned by the municipality until the beginning of 2017. From 2002 until the building was sold, the Computer-Treff Netlife e. V. , who had to vacate the building after the sale. The association's last workshop took place here on January 12, 2017. On the night of June 25, 2018, the reception building was damaged in a fire.

Ticket sales stopped in 1998.

Today the station is served by the S-Bahn line 3 of the Nuremberg S-Bahn every 20 or 40 minutes.

The station is in the immediate vicinity of Bundesstrasse 8. The two park-and-ride parking lots , which are located next to the station building, have 144 parking spaces. There are also 140 covered bicycle parking spaces available here.

The bus stop Postbauer-Heng Bahnhof is served by a bus line of Omnibusverkehr Franken (OVF): The bus line 505 connects the station with Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz, the bus lines 505 and 506 with the center of Postbauer-Heng, the neighboring community Pyrbaum as well as with Allersberg and the train station there .

The tariff system of the Greater Nuremberg Transport Association (VGN) applies to the bus route as well as to the train .
