Railway stations in North Rhine-Westphalia |
The Luettringhausen station is now in the public transport ( public transport only) or as a stopping point operated station in Luettringhausen on the timetable Route 458. The route is not approached more from the DB since the beginning, 2014. Abellio Rail NRW GmbH , based in Essen , has been doing this since January 2014 .
location
The station is located in the north of Lüttringhausen, an independent town in the former Lennep district until 1929 , which today forms a district and district of the independent Bergisch city of Remscheid in North Rhine-Westphalia . The still existing, no longer publicly accessible station building is set back east and a few meters above the Barmer road and is a stairway to reach.
history
The station was built in 1868 as part of the single-track , standard-gauge and non-electrified railway line Wuppertal-Oberbarmen-Solingen that was initially built by the Bergisch-Märkische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (BME) . This initially only ran from Rittershausen via Ronsdorf , Lüttringhausen and Lennep to Remscheid (and later continued to Hasten ).
Lüttringhausen station was opened on September 1, 1868. The station building dates from the early days of this railway line.
Description and current situation
The historic station building has a facade made of ashlar with beige painted plaster. It has two full floors and an attic with a gable roof and double gables , which are located both above the entrance portal on the street side and on the opposite side above the former access to the house platform . The first floor is now partially clad with artificial slate. The ground floor included the entrance area , the waiting room, a restaurant and a bay window with a dispatcher interlocking and office. Today the building has no railway function, is used privately and gives the impression of neglect of maintenance. It is not a listed building.
The station formerly had a covered house platform on track 1 and a narrow intermediate platform to the second track with a level crossing over the house track, secured by the dispatcher.
After the redesign of the station to a stopping point for passenger traffic and the associated track renovation and dismantling, the main platform that still exists today is now inoperable, while the intermediate platform has been completely removed.
To replace the original platforms newly created Today's two south (and elsewhere in detail) of the former station building and 76 cm high foreign or direction platforms are both stair access from the Herbringhauser road and accessible from the off-Bottlenberg Road (the western platform towards Lennep - Remscheid Hauptbahnhof - Solingen Hauptbahnhof ) and via a ramp from Grünenplatzstraße in the direction of Oberbarmen - Wuppertal Hauptbahnhof . There is a DB plus point on this platform . Both platforms are also equipped with guide stones for the blind , single-line dynamic passenger information displays and loudspeakers .
Since the redesign of the track field , there are still three fully functional side tracks , freight and shunting tracks as well as a junction that is regularly used in freight traffic to operate the Dirostahl company , a steel , rolling and hammer mill near the station. Today, deliveries by train can only take place via the section via Oberbarmen and Ronsdorf, as the Müngsten Bridge has been closed to freight trains for several years for static reasons. The former gravel and today's concrete works with its own gravel loading system and siding is now served exclusively by truck over the road.
Most recently there were two mechanical signal boxes in the station area, one with the designation "Lf Lüf" in the bay of the dispatcher directly at the station building and a tower signal box "Ln" (for "Lüttringhausen Nord") at the northern head of the station in the direction of Ronsdorf. After the modernization of the station, both were replaced by the new central signal box ("Rf" at Remscheid Hbf) and became redundant. While the bay window at the train station is still inoperable today, the tower signal box has been put down.
The goods shed and the gantry crane in the eastern station area, formerly reserved for goods handling , were removed.
traffic
For passenger traffic , the station is served Monday to Friday, predominantly every 20 minutes, and on weekends and during off-peak times every half hour from the S-Bahn line S 7 of the S-Bahn Rhein-Ruhr .
