Barthold von Krakewitz
Barthold von Krakewitz , also von Krackewitz, von Krakewitz (born February 17, 1582 in Presenke auf Wittow ( Rügen ); † November 7, 1642 in Drigge (Rügen)) was a Lutheran theologian , university professor and general superintendent in Pomerania .

As the son of Victor von Krakewitz and Katharina von der Osten (* 1555), Barthold von Krakewitz was tutored by private tutors before he attended high schools in Magdeburg , Lüneburg and Stettin . In 1599 he began studying philosophy and theology in Greifswald and then continued in Rostock from April 1604 . In 1605 he went to the University of Wittenberg with a scholarship from the Duke . After completing his theological studies with Georg Mylius , Leonhard Hutter , Wolfgang Franz and Friedrich Balduin , he also gave sermons at the Wittenberg Castle Church and toured a pamphlet on pure doctrine and marital status, which was directed against Cardinal Robert Bellarmin he still Strasbourg, Tübingen, Heidelberg, Ingolstadt, Jena, Augsburg, Regensburg, Worms, Frankfurt am Main, Nuremberg and other German cities until he was back in Greifswald in 1607.
His erudition and his gift for preaching enabled him to win the favor of Duke Philipp Julius von Pommern-Wolgast, who appointed him general superintendent of Pommern-Wolgast after the death of Friedrich Runge . Then he went to Rostock where he arrived March 12, 1607 as a doctor of theology doctorate was. As a general superintendent, he was also President of the Greifswald Consistory and Professor of Theology at the Greifswald University. He only lived in Drigge for a short time after he retired in 1637 . He was buried on November 21, 1642 in Greifswald Cathedral .

Barthold von Krakevitz's first marriage was in 1607 with Margarethe Jeger (* 1589 in Rostock; † February 7, 1630 in Drigge), daughter of the Rostock businessman Joachim Jäger. His second marriage was with Regina, the daughter of the West Pomeranian district administrator and Greifswald mayor Christian Schwartz , the widow of the Greifswald citizen and trader Christoph Bunsow.
