Basedow is a small village in northeast Brandenburg ( Germany ) in the Uckermark district . With only about 30 inhabitants, the village is the smallest district of the city of Prenzlau. The village is part of the municipality of Klinkow .

geography

The village is about 108 km north of Berlin and 58 km west of Szczecin ( Poland ). In the east of Basedow the river Quillow coming from Dedelow runs on its way into the Ucker .

history

Basedow was first mentioned in a document in 1249 with the name "Reineko de Bassedouue". During the German colonization the village was laid out as a street village. Before that there was a Slavic settlement. In the Middle Ages it was a farming village and belonged to the v. Arnim property. On July 1, 1950, it was incorporated into Klinkow .

Basedow village church

The church was built in the years 1889/90 on the site of an old predecessor church, which was demolished due to dilapidation, as a chapel in neo-Gothic style . The interior was renovated in 2000/2001. In 2002 the church was entered as an individual monument in the register of monuments of the district of Uckermark.

Transport links

Only one country road runs through Basedow in the direction of Prenzlau via Klinkow. Another country road runs west of the village in the direction of Dedelow (north) and Güstow (south). The federal highways 11 and 20 run near the village near Prenzlau. In Dedelow, 3 km to the north, there was a train station with trains in the direction of Strasburg (Uckermark) , Fürstenwerder (only until September 30, 1978) and Prenzlau, which was served by the Prenzlauer Kreisbahnen until May 27, 1995 . Today Basedow has a bus stop. There are buses from Monday to Friday on lines 411 (Prenzlau-Dedelow) and 401 (Prenzlau- Woldegk ), which together run every four hours between Prenzlau and Basedow. The Uckermärkische Radrundweg and the Gutsherren Cycle Tour run through the village . The nearest international airport, Szczecin-Goleniów, is about 88 km northeast of Basedow.
