Beate Blechinger (born May 22, 1947 in Dresden ) is a German politician ( CDU ). She was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament from 1990 to 1994 and again from 1999 to 2014 and was Minister of Justice of Brandenburg .

Life

Beate Blechinger studied from 1964 to 1969 at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University in Greifswald . From 1969 to 1986 she worked as a teacher. She then worked in the Neuenhagen data center near Berlin until 1990 .

Blechinger has three children.

politics

From 1990 to 1994 she was a member of the Brandenburg state parliament. In the 1999 state elections in Brandenburg, she was  not able to prevail against the PDS and SPD with 24.9% (first votes) and 22.5% (second votes) as a direct candidate in constituency 32 ( Märkisch-Oderland II) and moved into parliament via the state list and became parliamentary group leader of the CDU parliamentary group in the Brandenburg state parliament.

In the state elections in September 2004, Blechinger received 17.6% (first votes) and 16.1% (second votes). Once again she was unable to assert herself as a direct candidate against the PDS and SPD and thus entered the state parliament via the state list . She was subsequently appointed Minister of Justice. After the state elections in 2009, she moved back into the Brandenburg state parliament, but left the state government after the formation of the red-red state government.

With a result of 57.1%, she was elected district chairman of the CDU Märkisch-Oderland in March 2006 . In March 2010 Beate Blechinger no longer stood for election as district chairman. Hans-Georg von der Marwitz was elected as her successor .

Positions

In the internet political debate about internet blocking, Blechinger called for the blocking of criminal and politically extreme internet sites. It also calls for a multilateral agreement to combat political extremism. Blechinger considered the development of technical possibilities for Internet blocking in criminal content proposed by Ursula von der Leyen to be "correct and important".

criticism

In April 2007, allegations were made again of two property purchases in 1990 in the community of Fredersdorf. In both cases the community of Fredersdorf was the seller of the land where Blechinger's husband at the time was a member of the community council. In the meantime, however, even the Left Party sees Blechinger as exonerated from all allegations.

During her tenure as CDU district chairwoman, Beate Blechinger was repeatedly accused of not caring enough about her association. In the summer of 2007, however, the district board stood behind Blechinger. Some local associations subsequently fell out. The clashes between the Seelow, Strausberg, Fredersdorf and Neuenhagen associations came into the limelight. The internal party disputes were partly carried out in the Brandenburg courts during 2007 without Blechinger previously showing any signs of mediation in good time. Accusations of influencing the public prosecutor's office in court proceedings of this kind, raised by the journalist Billy Six, who now works for Junge Freiheit and Deutschland-Magazin , have never been confirmed.
