Belfort (blocks)

Belfort is a residential area in Kunrau , a district of the town of Klötze in the Altmark district of Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The place is in the nature reserve Ohre-Drömling in the wetland nature park Drömling . To the east is the Drömling bird sanctuary.

history

On July 13, 1872, the official gazette announced: The new Vorwerk built by the manor owner Rimpau on the Cunrau field, consisting of two barns and a stable building, was given the name “Belfort” with our permission from the owner. The name reminds the French city of Belfort during the Franco-Prussian War from 1870 to 1871.
