geography

history

In 1430 half the village of dollnittze is mentioned in a copial book when it is reported about the fiefdom of von Plathen . The village was probably still inhabited, after that it will have fallen in desolation. Because in 1596 a Vorwerk is called a Furwerck Dolnitz , which should give 4  Wispel rye, 2 Wispel barley and 2 Wispel oats to the Amt Klötze. In 1608 there is a sheep master in Döllnitz. But already in 1664 it is called Feldtmarckt Döllnitz desert again , mostly overgrown with wood and heather, covered in the middle of the Klötzescher Feld, is spoiled by game or used as pasture.

In 1608 there was a major crop failure in the area. At that time, the Döllnitz Vorwerk had Jürgen Schulzen in after-lease; The latter was also unable to buy grain for sowing and in a petition dated April 1609 asked Rath and Chancellor zu Celle for the delivery of grain and the deferral of the grain lease, otherwise the Dölnitz would become deserted . His request was granted.

Today's place emerged as a Vorwerk and later forest establishment on a desert field in the Lüneburg district of Cloetze , which came to the Gardelegen district in January 1816 . As early as 1818 a Vorwerk with a residential building was listed.

Johann Friedrich Danneil reported in 1843: “On the site of the old village there is now the apartment of a forester. The ruins of the village, especially the church, can still be found near the forester's house. The church, of which there are still considerable remains, was on a small hill between a beautiful group of oaks. ”He continued:“ A legend connects this church with a ruin ¾ mile away. ”The department of the forest called Klosterberg is 1 , 8 kilometers northeast of the forester's house. A monastery is said to have once stood there and the monks in it are said to have worshiped in the chapel in Döllnitz.
