Neu-Ristedt belongs to the village of Ristedt and is a district of the town of Klötze in the Altmark district of Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

The Altmark village of Neu-Ristedt is about one kilometer northwest of Ristedt and seven kilometers northwest of Klötze . The old water flows to the south and east and flows north into the Jeetze .

history

Determination of the spelling of the Ristedt colony

The place was created in the second half of the 19th century as a colony "New England". The colony "New England" was named that way back in 1864. On May 29, 1915, the spelling "Ristedt" was officially established for the colony. In 1986 "Neuristedt" was listed as a district of the municipality of Ristedt. In 2006 the spelling was "Neu-Ristedt". This spelling was retained. Occasionally the writing "Neu Ristedt" can be found on cards.

500 meters north of the village are the remains of an old brick factory that was in operation at the beginning of the 20th century.

About 500 meters northeast of Neu-Ristedt you can see traces of the Wendisch-Ristedt desert in the meadows. Wilhelm Zahn describes the situation in 1909 as follows: “… the» Kattensterten «, to which the ends of the courtyard and keel adjoin in a fan shape, still clearly indicate the location of the old round village. ... The north adjoining latitude is called »Gnelleitschen«. "

A farm in the village is a listed building. The large stone grave Ristedt is located southeast of the village in the forest.
