Jahrstedt is a town and part of the town of Klötze in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark round square village is geologically located on the Ohre near the Drömling wetland on the Calvörder plaice.

Local division

The village of Jahrstedt includes the district of Jahrstedt with the residential area Germenau and the district of Böckwitz .

history

The village of Jahrstedt is mentioned in a document in 1420 as dacz dorff Jarstede, enfeoffed as Margrave Friedrich Günzel von Bartensleben in the rule of Wolfsburg. In 1492, however, it says: dat dorp to Jorstede . Further mentions are 1687 Jarstedt and 1804 Jahrstedt . A windmill is first mentioned in 1818. In 1840 there were also two Roßölmühlen and a school house with a teacher.

During the land reform in 1945, the following were recorded: an estate with over 100 hectares has 117 hectares, 108 possessions under 100 hectares have a total of 1,427 hectares, the church has 2 hectares, the parish has 1 hectare of land. The expropriated 117.3 hectares were divided between 36 settlers, 29 of whom were new settlers. The first agricultural production cooperative , LPG Type III "Karl Marx", was established as early as 1952 . In 1960 the LPG type III farmed 2004 hectares, the LPG type I "Ohrestrand" 137 hectares. In 1959 the LPG type III "Voran" in Böckwitz was connected to the LPG type III. The LPG type I was only connected to the LPG type III in 1967. In 1986 the LPG "Karl Marx" operated the Germenau pullet facility. In addition, the Kunrau plant production facility with the Jahrstedt technical base was active. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1992, the LPG Type III was converted into "Agrargenossenschaft Jahrstedt eG". It was deleted from the commercial register on August 2, 1993. Other farms emerged and now shape agriculture.

The congregation celebrated its 800th anniversary in 2017. At that time the newspaper said: “It was in the year 1217, when Günzel von Bartensleben brought the bailiwick Steimke and thus Jahrstedt to his family through marriage.” The historian Peter Rohlach does not give the year for Jahrstedt. At the wedding in 1217 Siegmund Wilhelm Wohlbrück wrote : "But this is one of many fictions."

Incorporations

On April 1, 1937, the municipalities of Jahrstedt and Germenau were merged to form a municipality called Jahrstedt. This made Germenau one of Jahrstedt's residential areas.

Jahrstedt was reclassified from the district of Salzwedel to the new district of Gardelegen on July 1, 1950 . On July 25, 1952, the community came to the district of Klötze . After its dissolution it was assigned to the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel . On January 1, 1974, the municipality of Böckwitz was incorporated into Jahrstedt.

On January 12, 2009, the municipal council of the Jahrstedt municipality decided that the municipality of Jahrstedt should be incorporated into the town of Klötze. This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.

After incorporating the previously independent community of Jahrstedt, Böckwitz and Jahrstedt became districts of the city of Klötze. For the incorporated municipality, the local constitution was introduced according to §§ 86 ff. Of the municipality code of Saxony-Anhalt . The incorporated community of Jahrstedt and future districts of Jahrstedt and Böckwitz became the locality of the receiving city of Klötze. A local council with seven members including the mayor was formed in the incorporated community and now the village of Jahrstedt.
