geography

The Altmark village of Wenze, a round square village with a church on the square, which has been extended to the north , is located on the northern edge of the Drömling Nature Park . The Mittelland Canal lies south of the village ; the next transshipment port is in Calvörde .

Local division

The Wenze, Quarnebeck and Trippigleben districts belong to the locality of Wenze .

history

The village of Wenze is first mentioned in 1394 as dat halue dorp to wendessem . According to that document, Albert von Alvensleben and Heinrich von Eikendorp sold and left some villages to the dukes Bernhard and Heinrich von Braunschweig and Lüneburg because of their imprisonment . In 1420 it says: dacz dorff czu wendessem (in the original: Wendeschen) dacz da licht in front of the dromelinge .

The village was regained by von Alvensleben after 1394 , at the latest before 1553 until after 1818. A second part of the village belonged to von Bartensleben before 1420 to 1742 and from 1742 to 1849 von der Schulenburg .

The village was also mentioned in 1553 Wenditz , 1608 Wendisse , 1687 Wendisse and 1804 Wentze .

Wenze was created as a round . As in the entire region, half-timbered houses determined the townscape. The chronicles tell of two devastating fires in which almost the entire place burned down.

The men's choir was founded in 1922, followed by the fire brigade club the following year. The local school existed until 1971, a kindergarten from 1959 to 1994.

First mentioned not in 1375

In the historical local dictionary for the Altmark, Peter P. Rohrlach explains that the mention of wense from the year 1375, assumed by Wilhelm Zahn , Johannes Schultze and other authors , does not refer to Wenze, but to the former residential area Werle, now the field name Werl 1, Found 5 kilometers west of Tylsen .

Incorporations

On July 25, 1952 Wenze was from in the community district Gardelegen in the circuit blocks reclassified. On January 1, 1974, the Quarnebeck community was incorporated into Wenze. On April 1, 1974, the municipality of Trippigleben was also incorporated into Wenze.

On January 8, 2009, the municipal council of the municipality of Wenze decided that the municipality of Wenze should be incorporated into the town of Klötze. This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.

After incorporation of the previously independent municipality of Wenze, Quarnebeck , Trippigleben and Wenze become districts of the city of Klötze. The local constitution was introduced for the incorporated municipality in accordance with §§ 86 ff. Municipality code of Saxony-Anhalt . The incorporated municipality of Wenze and the future districts of Quarnebeck, Trippigleben and Wenze became the locality of the receiving city of Klötze. A local council with six members, including the local mayor, was formed in the incorporated municipality and now Wenze.

From July 1, 2019, there will be a new village of Trippigleben with the district of Trippigleben. The village of Wenze then only consists of the districts of Wenze and Quarnebeck. The Wenze local council then only consists of 4 members.
