Bella Hadid
Isabella "Bella" Khair Hadid (born October 9, 1996 in Washington, DC ) is an American model . In December 2016, the industry voted her “Model of the Year” for Model.com's “Model of the Year 2016 Award”.
Life
Bella Hadid was born in Washington, DC, to former Dutch model Yolanda Hadid and Jordanian real estate agent of Palestinian descent Mohamed Hadid . Hadid has an older sister, Gigi Hadid , and a younger brother, Anwar Hadid, who also works as a model. She has two older half-sisters on her father's side, Marielle and Alana, and five stepsisters on her step-father's side, music producer David Foster . Hadid and her siblings grew up on a ranch in Santa Barbara , but then moved to Malibu .
As a teenager, Hadid was a rider and had the dream of participating in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , but had to give up in 2013 because she suffered from chronic Lyme disease. She, her mother and her brother were diagnosed with this in 2012, but it was not announced until October 2015.
Professional career
Hadid began modeling with an advertising project for Flynn Skye at the age of 16. She was also in Swan sittings of Lesa Amoore next to the actor Ben Barnes and Smoking Hot by Holly Copeland to see. She modeled for designer Hannah Hayes' fall / winter campaign and was also featured in a number of different advertising projects and in the ChromeHearts 2013 summer campaign. In the fall of 2014, Hadid moved to New York City , where she began studying photography at Parsons The New School for Design . Shortly afterwards, she signed a contract with IMG Models and dropped out of her studies for the time being due to her modeling career.
She made her debut at New York Fashion Week in the fall of 2014 when she was signed to Desigual for the show . At the Spring 2015 Fashion Weeks she ran for Tom Ford in Los Angeles and the AmFAR 22nd Cinema Against AIDS Gala Fashion Show in May. She ran for Diane von Fürstenberg , Tommy Hilfiger , Marc Jacobs and Jeremy Scott at New York Fashion Week in fall 2015 . She ran for Topshop Unique and Giles at London Fashion Week , and for Philipp Plein , Moschino , Missoni and Bottega Veneta at Milan Fashion Week . She showed up at Balmain at Paris Fashion Week . She made her debut at Chanel in December 2015 . She was also featured on various covers such as B. Vogue Australia and Elle shown.
Hadid was one of eight models selected for Topshop's Holiday Campaign. She also starred alongside her sister Gigi in Balmain's 2015 spring campaign. Victoria's Secret hired her for their Christmas campaign. At the end of 2015, Models.com readers voted her Top Newcomer 2015.
In March 2016, she won the Model of the Year award at the Daily Front Row's Fashion Los Angeles Awards. In June 2016, Hadid was named to Models.com's Top 50 Models List.
In addition to Frank Ocean and Kate Moss , she is part of the international Calvin Klein campaign and the Givenchy autumn / winter campaign 2016 and the Resort 2017 line. In May, Bella Hadid was named as the new Dior Makeup Ambassador .
