Benjamin Édelin (born February 23, 1993 in Saint-Lô ) is a former French track cyclist and later cycling trainer .
Athletic career
In 2010 Benjamin Édelin won the team sprint junior world championship together with Kévin Guillot and Julien Palma . The three athletes set a new junior world record of 45.402 seconds, which lasted until August 19, 2015. In the same year, the three drivers were also joint junior European champions in the team sprint, and Édelin also in the keirin . In 2011, Édelin was runner-up in the team sprint together with Palma and Anthony Jacques , and he also won a silver medal in the 1000-meter time trial . In 2013 he finished second in the Keirin at the U23 European Championships.
From 2014 Édelin started in the elite and took several podium places in national championships. In 2016, together with Sébastien Vigier and Quentin Lafargue, he won the silver medal in the team sprint at the races of the Track Cycling World Cup in Glasgow and Apeldoorn . In spring 2017 he won the bronze medal in the team sprint with Vigier and Lafargue at the World Railroad Championships in Hong Kong , in autumn of the same year the three athletes became European champions together . At the 2017/18 Track Cycling World Cup in Minsk, he finished third with Michaël D'Almeida and Rayan Helal .
In 2017 Benjamin Édelin ended his active cycling career and started working as a coach.
