Benjamin Zobrys

Benjamin Zobrys (* 1976 in Berlin ) is a German actor and voice actor .

Zobrys attended early childhood music education from 1979 . From 1980 he received piano lessons .

At the age of eight he stood in front of a film camera for the first time as a child actor . In the ZDF series Das Traumschiff (first broadcast: 1990) he played little Daniel Freytag , who grew up with his grandfather ( Hans Caninenberg ), whom he affectionately calls "Big Father", and whose emotional world was in chaos when his father ( Christian Kohlund ), who works as a musician in New Orleans , claims custody of him. This was followed by episode roles in the television series Praxis Bülowbogen and Ein Heim für Tiere .

After graduating from high school (1995), he completed training at the University of the Arts in Berlin from 1996 to 2000 in the subjects of acting , singing and dance , from which he graduated with an acting diploma.

Today Zobrys works mainly as a theater actor . He performed at the Theater des Westens ( Die Dreigroschenoper , Eugene in Grease ), at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm (in miniatures , Das Geld ist auf der Bank and Das Haus in Montevideo ), at the Neukölln Opera (in How to succeed in business without really trying and The Sound of Music ), at the Stadttheater Bern (2000 as Baby John in West Side Story ), at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt (in Anything goes ) and at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz (2001, 2004/2005 as Barnaby Tucker in Hello Dolly ! , director: Stefan Huber ).

In 2003 he played Branko Babitsch at the Renaissance Theater (Theater der Jugend, tdj) in Vienna in the Austrian premiere of Kurt Held's Die Rote Zora and their gang in a version by Thomas Birkmeir . At the Schmidt-Theater in Hamburg he took part in the world premieres of the musicals Villa Sonnenschein (2005 leading role as community service provider Felix) and Swinging St. Pauli (2001 as Max Waldeck). In 2005 he also played this role at the St. Pauli Theater alongside Nik Breidenbach . In the Berlin version Swinging Berlin – Tanzen prohibited he played in 2005 at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm together with Helmut Baumann , who also directed. In 2010 he appeared at the Schmidt Theater under the direction of Corny Littmann in the musical Heiße Ecke .

In addition, Zobrys made a guest appearance with his own chanson program Gestatten: Maunz! in the Theaterforum Kreuzberg in Berlin. He is a member of the Magic Circle in Berlin.

As an adult, Zobrys was also seen in episode roles in the television series Our Charly and Inspector Rex .

Zobrys also worked as a voice actor, including in the series Friends and Dave, the barbarian .

Zobrys lives in Hamburg . His younger brother Mike Zobrys is also an actor.
