Benoît Hogue (born October 28, 1966 in Repentigny , Québec ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who worked for the Buffalo Sabers , New York Islanders , Toronto Maple Leafs , Dallas Stars , Tampa Bay Lightning during his active career between 1983 and 2002 , Phoenix Coyotes , Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League on the position of left winger has denied. Hogue celebrated his greatest career success in the service of the Dallas Stars by winning the Stanley Cup in 1999 .
Career
Benoît Hogue began his career as a hockey player with the Castors de Saint-Jean , for which he was active from 1983 to 1986 in the Canadian junior league Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec . During this period he was selected in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft in the second round as a total of 35 players by the Buffalo Sabers . With their farm team , the Rochester Americans from the American Hockey League , for which he played almost exclusively in his first two seasons in the Buffalo Sabers franchise , he won the Calder Cup in the 1986/87 season . The following season the attacker made his National Hockey League debut for the Sabers, scoring one goal and providing an assist in three games. There followed three years as a regular in the NHL for Buffalo, before he was on October 25, 1991 together with Pierre Turgeon , Uwe Krupp and Dave McLlwain in exchange for Pat LaFontaine , Randy Hillier , Randy Wood and a four-round vote in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft was given to the New York Islanders .
With the New York Islanders, Hogue ran regularly for three years in the NHL before he was transferred to the Toronto Maple Leafs shortly before the end of the trade deadline in the 1994/95 season . He left after less than a year to join the Dallas Stars . After three years, the left-shooter left the Texans again in 1998, before he was brought back by those responsible shortly before the end of the 1998/99 season . With Dallas he won the prestigious Stanley Cup for the first and only time in the following playoffs . He contributed to this success with two assists in 14 playoff games. The Canadian spent the next season with the Phoenix Coyotes before signing with the Dallas Stars for another year and a half. After completing the 2001-02 season with the Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals , Hogue retired at the age of 35.
