In the 2001 NHL Entry Draft he was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the fifth round in 150th place and then played for the University of Wisconsin-Madison for four years .
After moving to the professional field, Brückler played a mixed season in 2005/06 in the American Hockey League for the Hartford Wolf Pack and in the ECHL for the Charlotte Checkers and Toledo Storm , before finally moving back to Europe. In 2014 and 2015 he was Austrian champion with the Salzburg team .
On September 8, 2015 he was signed by the Klagenfurt AC , where standard goalie René Swette was out due to health problems. The contract was provisionally agreed until the end of November 2015. He was then signed on and played 31 games for the Klagenfurt team in the 2015/16 season . He then ended his career and became a TV expert at Sky Austria .
