Bernd Hans Heinrich Pommerenicke (born February 16, 1796 in Lanke , † December 9, 1872 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Origin and family

Pommerenicke came from a simple background. His father Christian was a gardener in Lanke, his mother was Anna Luise, née Lauke.

He was married twice, the first marriage from 1822 to the Stettin pastor's daughter Auguste Antoinette Mathilde Brunnemann (1800-1823) and the second to the daughter of the Stettin regimental doctor Elisabeth Karoline Friederike Welle (1810-1870).

Career

Pommerenicke began his career in the Prussian Army in 1811 as a gunner in the Brandenburg Artillery Brigade . In the Wars of Liberation he fought near Großgörschen , Bautzen , Dresden , Kulm , Leipzig and in the battle near Haynau . For his work in front of Kulm he was honored with the Order of St. George V Class. By 1815 he was promoted to second lieutenant and after changing to the 2nd artillery brigade to prime lieutenant . In 1829 he was promoted to captain and in 1831/38 served as an artillery officer from the square in Erfurt . Then Pommerenicke was transferred to the 1st artillery brigade with a patent from 1827 and in 1841 commanded as a member of the artillery examination committee at the artillery and engineering school . In 1843 he moved again to the 2nd Artillery Brigade, but retained his position. There he rose to major in 1844 and was aggregated in 1848 as 2nd Commander of Glogau of the 2nd Artillery Brigade . In 1849 he received the swords for the Red Eagle Order IV class and in 1850 he became a brigadier of the 6th Artillery Brigade . After his promotion to lieutenant colonel in 1852, he became chief of the general staff of the general inspection of the artillery , as well as a member of the examination committee for prime lieutenant of the artillery that same year . In 1853 he was promoted to colonel and in 1856 he was awarded the Order of St. Anne II. Class with a crown. Pommerenicke was put up for disposition as major general with a patent in 1856 . In 1859 he became a member of the High Military Study Commission and the Directorate of Studies for the War Academy . Finally, in 1862, he received the Order of the Red Eagle, Second Class with Oak Leaves. In 1872 Pommerenicke was released from his position. His burial took place in the St. Matthew Cemetery in Berlin
