history

Bertschikon is first mentioned in 1255 as Bersinkon . Gündlikon was mentioned as Gundilinchova in 1162.
From the medieval landlords, the Habsburgs , Kyburgers and the monasteries of St. Gallen and Reichenau, Bertschikon passed into Zurich rule in 1471 .
The former community of Bertschikon consisted of the civil communities Bertschikon, Gundetswil , Gündlikon , Zünikon , Liebensberg , Stegen and the Zurich part of Kefikon in the 19th and partly still in the 20th century . Hence the seven stars in the former municipal coat of arms. On January 1, 2014, she joined the neighboring Wiesendangen.
The Federal Statistical Office (FSO) led Bertschikon until the merger with Wiesendangen under the FSO number 0212.
