Ellikon is a municipality in the Winterthur district of the canton of Zurich in Switzerland .

The family coat of arms of the Lords of Goldenberg at Mörsburg Castle was adopted as the municipal coat of arms . These held the jurisdiction from 1368 until their extinction.

Ellikon is located on the Thur plain, 10 km northeast of Winterthur . 69.7% of the municipal area is used for agriculture, 19.5% is covered with forest, 4.3% is traffic area and 5.9% is settlement area, 0.4% is water.

The municipality of Ellikon an der Thur borders on Uesslingen-Buch in the north, Frauenfeld in the east, Gachnang in the south-east, Wiesendangen in the south-west, Rickenbach in the west and Altikon in the north-west .
