Bettina Blumenberg (writer)

Bettina Blumenberg (born December 17, 1947 in Lübeck ) is a German writer and translator .

Life

Bettina Blumenberg is a daughter of the philosopher Hans Blumenberg . She studied classical philology , Romance studies and art history . Until 1979 she worked as a dramaturge and assistant director at the Bochumer Schauspielhaus . After she had already published prose and essays in magazines and anthologies, she took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in Klagenfurt in 1983 . Since the same year she has been based in Munich as a publishing editor , translator and freelance writer .

In 1984 Bettina Blumenberg received the Marburg Literature Prize and the Bavarian Art Prize in the field of literature.
