Location of the venues in Europe |
In the 1982/83 season the Biathlon World Cup was held for the 6th time. The competition series consisted of five individual and sprint races as well as three relay races for men and was held at four venues. The four World Cup events took place in Ruhpolding , Antholz , Lahti and Oslo . The world championships were held for the third time in Antholz , Italy . In contrast to the following years, the results counted towards the World Cup. It was not until 1995 that the results of the World Championships were included in the World Cup ranking again. The World Cup planned for Oberhof could not be held there due to lack of snow and was therefore moved to Antholz. The overall men's world cup was won by Peter Angerer, ahead of Eirik Kvalfoss and Frank Ullrich . This season, a biathlon European Cup for women was held for the first time. However, the first World Cup station was canceled, so that only the races took place in Lappeenranta , Finland .
