Biopunk

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Biopunk ( suitcase word from the Greek prefix bio for “life” and punk ) describes a subculture and a mixture of steampunk and cyberpunk . Here, however, the focus is on genetic manipulation , biotechnology and the associated futuristic agriculture, up to and including the genetic manipulation of humans themselves. In contrast to similar subcultures, Biopunk is situated in the near future, whereby the possible consequences of the change in DNA are played out.
