The Mukacheve diocese ( Latin Dioecesis Munkacsiensis Latinorum , Ukrainian Мукачівська дієцезія ) is a Roman Catholic diocese in western Ukraine . The parish today includes the Transcarpathian Oblast .
history
St. Martin's Cathedral at Mukachevo
- 1993: Establishment of the Transcarpathian Apostolic Administration for the Ukrainian Oblast of the same name , the territory of which was disputed for a long time between Czechoslovakia , Hungary and the Soviet Union . The area previously belonged to the diocese of Satu Mare in what is now Romania .
- 2002: Elevation to the diocese based in Mukachevo .
