Björn Rother (born July 29, 1996 in Stolberg ) is a German soccer player . The defensive midfielder is under contract with FC Hansa Rostock .

Career

In his youth, Rother played for TSV Hertha Walheim , Alemannia Aachen and Bayer 04 Leverkusen . In the summer of 2015 he moved from the U-19 from Leverkusen to second team of Werder Bremen in the 3. Liga .

He made his debut on September 5, 2015 in a 3-1 defeat by Preußen Münster . Rother was in the starting line-up, but had to be replaced in the 43rd minute due to an injury. For the 2017/18 season Rother moved to 1. FC Magdeburg , where he prevailed as a regular player. At the end of the season he celebrated promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with the FCM.

For the 2020/21 season, 23-year-old midfielder Björn Rother moved from 1. FC Magdeburg to FC Hansa Rostock on a free transfer and within the league . In Rostock he received a contract for two years and brought the experience of 103 third division games and 26 second division appearances with him to the Baltic Sea.
