Nils Butzen (born April 2, 1993 in Mühlhausen / Thuringia ) is a German soccer player . The full-back has been under contract with Hansa Rostock since summer 2019 .

Career

Butzen came to 1. FC Magdeburg in 2009 from the youth of FC Union Mühlhausen . Until 2010 he played in the U-17 team of the club, from 2010 to 2011 in the U-19. In the second half of the 2010/11 Oberliga season , Butzen played three games for the second team of FCM, which was relegated at the end of the season.

In 2011 Butzen was included in the Magdeburg professional squad, but was not used in the first half of the 2011/12 regional league season . In the second half of the season Butzen was on the field in six games. Butzen made his breakthrough in the newly founded Regionalliga Nordost : He played 21 games and Magdeburg was able to improve significantly compared to the previous season. The next year was less successful for Butzen. In the 2013/14 season , Butzen only played one game. Magdeburg also missed the championship by twelve points behind TSG Neustrelitz . In the 2014/15 season , Butzen was able to establish himself as a right-back and played 22 games. At the end of a successful season in which they were champions of the Northeast Regional Football League , Butzen was also on the field in the promotion games to the 3rd division . In this one defeated the Kickers Offenbach and made the ascent perfect.

Butzen made his third division debut on the 1st match day of the 2015/16 season , July 24, 2015, in a 2-1 opening win over FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt .

In summer 2019, Butzen will move to Hansa Rostock after 8 years in the service of FCM . He signed a two-year contract with the people of the Baltic Sea.
