John Verhoek [ vərˈhuk ] (born March 25, 1989 in Leidschendam ) is a Dutch football player . The striker is under contract with Hansa Rostock .

Career

Verhoek comes from the youth of ADO Den Haag , but began his professional career at FC Dordrecht , for which he was active from 2008 to 2010. He moved to FC Den Bosch for the 2010/11 season , for whom he scored ten goals in 17 second division games before Stade Rennes brought him to Ligue 1 during the winter break . He received a four-and-a-half year contract, but only made seven appearances without a hit in the first half of the year and was not even part of the league squad at the beginning of the 2011/12 season. At the end of August 2011, the Bretons awarded Verhoek to ADO Den Haag; in the Eredivisie he should gain more match practice. In the 2012/13 season Verhoek played on loan at the German second division club FSV Frankfurt .

For the 2013/14 season Verhoek moved to FC St. Pauli . He signed a contract until June 30, 2016.

From the 2016/17 season , Verhoek played for 1. FC Heidenheim . Verhoek signed a two-year contract with FCH.

The MSV Duisburg signed him for the 2018/19 season and provided him with a contract until 2021. After MSV's relegation to the 3rd division , the striker's contract, who was unable to build on his performance at Heidenheim in the service of the zebras (no goal in 22 missions), was terminated in spring 2019.

Shortly before the start of the 2019/2020 season, Hansa Rostock announced the engagement of the attacker, who received a two-year contract.
