Julian Riedel (born August 10, 1991 in Leverkusen ) is a German soccer player . He has been under contract with Hansa Rostock since 2017 and is mostly used in the defense chain.
Career
Julian Riedel began his career in the youth team at TuS 05 Quettingen , before joining the youth team at Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 1998 , where he was a member until 2010. For the 2010/11 season he was promoted to the squad of the second team (U-23), with which he competed in the fourth-class Regionalliga West . He played his first game under coach Ulf Kirsten on August 7, 2010 in the goalless draw against the second team from VfL Bochum . His first and only goal for the second team, which after the restructuring of the Regionalliga continues in the Regionalliga West, on November 7th, 2012 in a 2: 3 win against VfB Hüls . In the 21st minute, after preliminary work by Tobias Steffen , he scored the interim 2-1 for his team.
Julian Riedel made his professional debut on December 6, 2012 in the last group game of the Europa League against Rosenborg Trondheim , in which he played the full game and scored the 1-0 winner for his team in the 65th minute. Only a few hours before kick-off Riedel received his license to play as a player from the B-list after he was not nominated for the Europa League squad at the start of the season.
For the 2013/14 season Julian Riedel left Bayer and moved to Preußen Münster in the third division. On August 17, 2013 he made his debut under coach Pavel Dotchev in the 1-1 draw at SV Wehen Wiesbaden when he came on for Dennis Grote in the 88th minute . In his first season he was able to reach the final in the Westphalia Cup with Preußen Münster, where he defeated the Sportfreunde Siegen in the Leimbach Stadium 3-0.
For the 2015/16 season he moved to the FC Erzgebirge Aue team , which was looked after by his former coach Pavel Dotchev, and signed a two-year contract. He made his debut in the Auer dress on August 22, 2015 in a 2-1 win at VfB Stuttgart II . He came on in the 68th minute for Simon Handle .
On June 8, 2017, the third division Hansa Rostock announced the commitment of Riedel. He received a two-year contract on the Baltic coast with an option for another year. His starting eleven debut for the Kogge he made on the 1st matchday at the away game in Lotte , which he played again under - now Hansa coach - Pavel Dotchev. He received an appearance in the DFB Cup against Bundesliga club Hertha BSC (0: 2), played in 36 of 38 possible third division games for Hansa and was the state cup winner for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at the end of the season . In the final he defeated FC Mecklenburg Schwerin (2: 1) with the cog .
Leading player Riedel prematurely extended his contract in Rostock in the summer of 2018 and signed a working paper until 2021. A year later he was appointed team captain by head coach Jens Härtel for the 2019/20 season .
