Black Diamond is a census-designated place (CDP) in Citrus County in the US state of Florida with 1101 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Black Diamond is located approximately 20 km northwest of Inverness and approximately 120 km north of Tampa .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 1101 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 609 households. The population density was 112.3 inh / km². 89.6% of the population identified themselves as whites , 1.5% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 7.8% as Asian Americans . 0.2% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 0.7% to several ethnic groups. 1.8% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 11.0% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 62.1% of all households. 80.4% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.10 people and the average family size was 2.33 people.

8.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 5.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 18.5% were 40 to 59 years old, and 67.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 66 years. 46.4% of the population were male and 53.6% were female.

The median annual income was $ 107,500, with 1.7% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100% of the population.
