Beverly Hills is a census-designated place (CDP) in Citrus County in the US state of Florida with 8,445 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Beverly Hills is about 20 km northwest of Inverness and about 120 km north of Tampa .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 8,445 inhabitants were distributed over 4,986 households. The population density was 1141.2 inh / km². 90.7% of the population identified themselves as whites , 3.5% as African American , 0.4% as Indians and 1.2% as Asian Americans . 1.5% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.6% to several ethnic groups. 8.0% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 20.7% of all households and people aged 65 or over lived in 50.9% of all households. 53.6% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.04 people and the average family size was 2.65 people.

19.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 18.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 22.0% were 40 to 59 years old, and 39.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 50 years. 45.0% of the population were male and 55.0% were female.

The median annual income was $ 29,853, with 21.4% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 91.02% of the population, 4.24% spoke Spanish and 4.74% had another mother tongue.
