Geography and transport links
Bockholt is located northwest of the core town of Ahlerstedt and south of Kakerbeck. The K 74, which leads from Ahlerstedt to Kakerbeck, runs through the village. A smaller road also leads to Oersdorf . Bockholt is connected to the floodplain via the Brakengraben . Bockholt consists of three farms.

Sewage treatment plant
The sewage treatment plant in Bockholt was built in 1992/93 and was originally designed for 3000 people. In 2006 the sewage treatment plant was rebuilt for a population of 6,000. It is responsible for the places Ahlerstedt, Ahrenswohlde , Ottendorf and Kakerbeck.

The Bockholt children attend primary school in Ahlerstedt, although Bockholt belongs to Kakerbeck and the Kakerbeck children are enrolled in Bargstedt .
