Shooting club

The Ahlerstedter Schützenverein was founded on June 25, 1925. In the Gasthaus Bockelmann (today's Schützenhof Ahlerstedt) a couple of young men wanted to celebrate a birthday and then to Harsefeld for the shooting festival . Later on, however, they discovered that if they were to go to the rifle festival, they would not be home in time for the morning milking. So they decided to found their own shooting club in Ahlerstedt. The next day they were able to convince over fifty people of this through the postman Schnackenberg. A lease agreement between the shooting club and the Gasthaus Bockelmann dated July 29, 1925 has been handed down. The first rifle festival, however, took place in the Duncker inn on Zevener Strasse (demolished in 2001). The first shooting range was at the Hopfenhof. The celebrations took place in the tent or barn of the Bockelmann inn. In 1928/29 the first shooting range was built in the Gasthaus Bockelmann, which had to be demolished in 1946 on the orders of the English occupation , but was rebuilt in 1949. In 1956 the club host Bockelmann had a new shooting hall built. In 1967 a women's department was set up. The shooting club and the shooting festival are among the most important pillars of village life in Ahlerstedt.

This fire brigade became a compulsory fire brigade in 1902 . The current Ahlerstedt volunteer fire brigade was founded on February 20, 1935. In September 1942, Ahlerstedt received a portable pump with a trailer from the Magirus brand . During World War II, parts of the fire brigade had to go to the Wehrmacht, women, girls and Hitler Youth were drafted. An air raid guard was deployed every night. The first fire engine was purchased in 1943 and the second in 1947. Since it was too big for the old parking space, a fire station was built in-house. In 1951 Ahlerstedt received a siren and a new LF 8 for the first time , previously the alarm was triggered by a horn. In 1987 the company moved into the new fire station on Kakerbecker Strasse and the fire brigade received a new LF 8 from the Iveco brand . Today, the fire department has a fire truck , a crew transport vehicle and a pumper . Due to lack of space, she moved into a new fire station on the outskirts near the cemetery.
