Bojana Jovanovski Petrović (born December 31, 1991 as Bojana Jovanovski in Belgrade , Yugoslavia ) is a former Serbian tennis player .

Career

Jovanovski started playing tennis at the age of seven. She prefers the hard court, her favorite shot is the forehand.

From 2008 to 2010 she won four individual titles in ITF tournaments. She celebrated her first title on the WTA Tour in July 2012 when she won the Baku Cup. Since April 2010 she has played 17 games for the Serbian Fed Cup team ; she achieved six victories for Serbia.

At the Australian Open in 2013 she made it to the round of 16 of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time . In September, she won the second WTA individual title at the hard court tournament in Tashkent, and another title followed the following week at the Challenger tournament in Ningbo .

After the 2016 French Open , she had a shoulder and then a wrist operation. As a result, she was unable to play a tennis match for the rest of the 2016 season or the entire 2017 season. Only at the end of January 2018, at the St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy , did she return to a WTA tournament with a protected list position in the qualification for the women's singles .

On November 28, 2018, she announced the end of her career.

Personal

A curious history of flight increased the level of awareness of Jovanovski. When she wanted to fly to Carlsbad (California) for the WTA tournament in the summer of 2011 , she ended up in Carlsbad (New Mexico) instead .

In November 2016 she married her boyfriend Miloš Petrović.
